The problem

Most trading strategies never get past the notes app.

Not because the idea was bad — because there was no way to write it down, test it, and let something else watch the market for you.

The idea lives in your head

You know the setup. You know the exit. But it only gets traded when you happen to be watching the screen at the right minute.

You never really tested it

Scrolling back through charts is not evidence. Without a repeatable test, you are trading a hunch and calling it a system.

Discipline breaks first

The rule gets bent on a red day, the size creeps up on a green one, and by month end you cannot tell which version you were even running.

How it works

Four steps, and you stay in the loop for all of them.

The version you approve is the version Artha runs. Nothing changes underneath you, and with confirmation mode on, nothing goes from a signal to a real order until you confirm it.

  1. 01

    Write the rules

Pick your entry signal, instrument, position size, DCA levels, exit target, and safety caps. Artha reads the whole thing back to you in plain language.

  2. 02

    Test the version

Backtest a saved version against historical data with fees and conservative fills, then compare it side by side with the version you are already running.

  3. 03

    Run it on paper

Approve a version and Artha watches the live market with it, simulating every eligible order so you can see what it would have done before money moves.

  4. 04

    Confirm anything live

When live access is enabled, Artha prepares a limit order and a fresh brokerage preview. With confirmation mode on, nothing is placed until you press confirm.

Build

Rules you can read before they run.

Choose from supported building blocks for entries, options, sizing, DCA, exits, and safety caps. Artha turns them into a plain-language summary you approve — nothing is hidden in a script.

  • No code and no scripts
  • Draft, review, and approve a version
  • Duplicate a version before editing it

Test

Evidence, attached to the version that produced it.

Backtest a saved version, compare it against the one you are already running, and see exactly which rule changed. Fees are included, fills are modelled conservatively, and the data source is recorded.

Historical results are hypothetical and do not guarantee future performance. Options testing depends on verified point-in-time market data.

Describe it. Artha drafts it.

Start with your own words. Artha turns the description into a structured draft with an entry, a position, a risk cap, and an exit — then hands it back for you to edit, test, and approve.

A draft is only a starting point. Every rule is reviewed and approved by you before a strategy runs, in paper or live.

What you get

Everything a strategy needs to be trusted.

Plain-language rules

Supported building blocks for entries, options, sizing, DCA, exits, and safety — assembled into a summary you can actually read.

Versions, not edits

Every change creates a new version. The rules that produced a result stay attached to it, so you always know what was running when.

Honest backtests

Fees included, conservative fills, and the data source recorded. Results are hypothetical and labelled as such.

Paper trading first

Every strategy starts in paper against the live market. Deployments begin paused and require readiness checks before they run.

A decision journal

Signals, skips, safety stops, approvals, orders, and fills all land in one timeline with the reason behind each one.

A real pause button

Pause any strategy at any time. New signals and order proposals stop immediately while the history stays intact.

Built for control

With confirmation on, nothing moves without you.

Confirmation mode is how Artha runs today. It does the watching and the preparation, then stops. Every order that touches real money waits for you to approve the exact price before it reaches your brokerage.

Manual price

Check the option in E*TRADE

$0 extra quote plan

Use the live price already visible in your brokerage account. No separate quote plan is needed for this final check; strategy monitoring still needs entitled rule data.

  1. 1Artha finds a signal and prepares the order details.
  2. 2You check E*TRADE and enter the limit price in Artha.
  3. 3SnapTrade returns the brokerage preview.
  4. 4You confirm before the limit order is placed.

Delayed quote assist

Let Artha suggest the limit

Paid data

An optional verified market-data snapshot suggests the limit price before the same brokerage preview and confirmation step.

  1. 1Artha finds a signal and requests a delayed option snapshot.
  2. 2You review the suggested limit price.
  3. 3SnapTrade returns the brokerage preview.
  4. 4You confirm before the limit order is placed.
Both choices use E*TRADE through SnapTrade, submit limit orders only, and stop if the preview changes or expires. Sathya's signal rules still require verified market data; the optional final-price assist is billed separately and may change.

You approve the price

With confirmation on, no real order proceeds without the exact limit and a fresh brokerage preview.

Limit orders only

No market orders, ever. A changed or expired preview stops the order instead of guessing.

Artha stops safely

A stale quote, a blown safety cap, or a lost broker connection halts the order and tells you why.

One complete history

Signals, skips, approvals, orders, fills, and pauses each keep a clear, readable reason.

FAQ

Questions worth asking.

Does Artha trade my account on its own?+

No. Artha only ever acts on rules you wrote and approved yourself. Strategies run in paper by default, and live access stays off until you enable it for your workspace. With confirmation mode on, Artha prepares a limit order and a brokerage preview and waits for you to confirm before anything is placed.

Do I need to know how to code?+

No. You build strategies by choosing from supported building blocks for entries, options, sizing, DCA, exits, and safety caps. Artha turns those into a plain-language summary you approve before it runs.

Which brokerage do I need?+

Live order preparation runs through E*TRADE via SnapTrade today. You can build, backtest, and paper trade before connecting any brokerage account at all.

How do backtests handle fees and fills?+

Fees are included and fills are modelled conservatively. The data source and the assumptions stay attached to every result. Historical and paper results are hypothetical and are not a guarantee of future performance.

Can I change a strategy that is already running?+

You create a new version, test it, and approve it. The running version keeps working until you switch, so you always know exactly which rules produced which outcome.

Is this investment advice?+

No. Artha does not recommend strategies, securities, or trades. You write the rules, you approve them, and every order comes from rules you authored. Artha does not choose what to trade on your behalf. Trading involves risk, including the loss of principal.

Can I sign up for Strategies today?+

Not yet. Strategies is in private testing and is not offered for sale. No fee is charged for it, and Artha takes no share of any trading result. Real-order placement is closed at the server while testing continues.

Where does market data come from?+

From licensed exchange feeds, under the individual subscription of the person running the strategy. Market data is used only to evaluate that person's own rules for their own account. Artha does not redistribute exchange quotes — quotes are never sent to anyone else's browser, and nothing in the product shows one person's market data to another.

Do I need my own market-data subscription?+

Yes. You bring your own market-data subscription, currently Alpaca at about $99 per month, and the provider bills you directly. Setting it up is part of getting started, because a strategy cannot watch the live market without it. Artha's software fee is separate and flat, and it does not change with how much data you use.
